Location and sensitive information
Precise location can be sensitive. LoamAura requests location access only when it is needed for a user-facing garden feature, such as saving a device location, calculating a USDA zone, adding weather context, or showing a nearby place name. The app can also accept manually entered coordinates where supported.
LoamAura does not use precise location for advertising, does not sell precise location, and does not continuously track location in the background based on the current app implementation. If a future feature needs materially different location handling, LoamAura will provide notice and obtain consent where required before that handling begins.
How we share information
LoamAura shares information only as needed for the purposes described in this policy.
- Service providers that host, secure, monitor, support, store, and operate the website, app, APIs, databases, and connected-device services.
- Payment and commerce providers, including Stripe for physical kit checkout and order support.
- App-store and subscription providers, including Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat, for in-app purchases, entitlement status, purchase restoration, subscription management, and related support.
- Notification providers, including Firebase Cloud Messaging, for push-token registration and delivery of notifications you enable.
- Location, mapping, weather, and plant-zone providers when needed to turn a saved or permitted location into place, weather, or USDA zone context.
- Support, email, fulfillment, security, analytics, diagnostics, and professional service providers that help us operate LoamAura.
- Authorities, courts, counterparties, or other third parties when we believe disclosure is required by law, needed to enforce terms, needed to protect rights and safety, or appropriate in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer of all or part of LoamAura.
Third-party services
LoamAura uses third-party services that may process information under their own terms and privacy policies, including:
- Stripe for hosted checkout and payment processing: stripe.com/privacy
- Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notification delivery: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management: revenuecat.com/gdpr
- Apple App Store and Google Play for app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, cancellation flows, refunds, and app privacy labels.
- Location and zone services used to convert coordinates into place names, postal or USDA zone context, and weather context.
Cookies, local storage, and app storage
LoamAura may use browser storage, app storage, secure platform storage where available, and server logs to keep you signed in, remember preferences, cache recent app data, secure the services, and support checkout or subscriptions. Third-party checkout, app-store, and subscription providers may use cookies or similar technologies on their own sites and SDKs.
Security
LoamAura uses technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information. These include HTTPS for network requests, authentication tokens, platform secure storage where available, access controls, logging, and service-provider security practices. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed completely secure. If you believe LoamAura or your account has a security issue, contact privacy@loamaura.io.
Retention and deletion
LoamAura keeps personal information for as long as needed to provide the services, maintain accounts and devices, support purchases and subscriptions, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, preserve security, and maintain business records.
- Account, garden, plant, device, recommendation, and location records are generally kept while your account is active or while needed to provide connected garden services.
- If your account is deleted, LoamAura may retain deidentified or aggregated observation data, such as plant types, planting dates, harvest records, sensor readings, weather readings, USDA zone, and coarse regional location. This retained observation data is detached from your account, email address, device identifiers, exact saved coordinates, nicknames, notes, and other direct identifiers.
- Push tokens are removed or disabled when notifications are turned off, you log out, or deletion is processed, subject to technical and provider retention limits.
- Checkout, subscription, tax, refund, fulfillment, fraud-prevention, and legal records may be retained for longer where required or reasonably needed.
- Local app caches can be cleared by logging out, uninstalling the app, or using operating-system storage controls.
To request account deletion or deletion of associated account data, use the deletion flow in the LoamAura app under My Account, or email privacy@loamaura.io from the email address on your LoamAura account and include "Account deletion request" in the subject. LoamAura may ask for information needed to verify the request. Account deletion removes or disables sign-in credentials, account records, device registrations, notification tokens, feedback, entitlements, and exact saved device location data, while deidentified or aggregated observation data and limited records may be retained where permitted or required for analytics, product improvement, legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, payment, fulfillment, warranty, dispute, or compliance purposes.
Your choices
- You can choose not to create an account, though app and device features may not work without one.
- You can deny location permission or enter a location manually where supported, though weather-aware and zone-aware features may be limited.
- You can turn off push notifications in the app settings or device settings.
- You can manage or cancel app subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play account that purchased the subscription.
- You can request access, correction, export, deletion, or other privacy help by contacting privacy@loamaura.io.
State, national, and regional privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or information about how LoamAura uses and discloses personal information. California residents may also have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit the use of sensitive personal information, and be free from discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
LoamAura does not sell personal information, does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and uses sensitive personal information only for the disclosed service, security, legal, and operational purposes. To exercise a privacy right, contact privacy@loamaura.io.
Children
LoamAura is a general-audience gardening service and is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 may not create an account or use LoamAura. If LoamAura learns that it has collected personal information from a child under 13 without required parental consent, it will take reasonable steps to delete that information.
International users
LoamAura is operated from the United States. If you use LoamAura from another country, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where LoamAura or its providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.
Changes to this policy
LoamAura may update this Privacy Policy as products, laws, providers, or data practices change. If changes are material, LoamAura will provide notice as required by law and, where required, obtain consent before applying materially different practices to information already collected.
